What is a forged steel gate valve?

A forged steel gate valve is an industrial valve manufactured through the forging process instead of casting. It offers superior strength, density, and resistance to high pressure and temperature, making it ideal for critical service applications such as oil & gas, petrochemical, and power generation.

What pressure classes are SHIELD forged steel gate valves available in?

SHIELD forged steel gate valves are available in Class 800, Class 900, and Class 1500 pressure ratings, with size range from 1/2" to 2" (DN15 to DN50).

What types of end connections are available?

SHIELD forged steel gate valves are available with four end connection types: Socket Weld, NPT Threaded, Flanged, and Butt Weld (BW), suitable for high-integrity piping systems.

What bonnet designs do SHIELD forged steel gate valves offer?

SHIELD forged steel gate valves offer three bonnet designs: Bolted Bonnet (with male-female joint and F316L/graphite spiral wound gasket), Welded Bonnet (fully welded and sealed), and Pressure Seal Bonnet (self-sealed by inner pressure sealing ring).

Are SHIELD forged steel gate valves API 602 compliant?

Yes. Every SHIELD forged steel gate valve is manufactured in full compliance with the API 602 standard, guaranteeing quality, safety, and interoperability. Testing is performed according to API 598.

What applications are forged steel gate valves suitable for?

SHIELD forged steel gate valves are suitable for high-pressure, high-temperature, and cryogenic services across oil & gas, power generation, chemical processing, and petrochemical industries.
